Workshops & Special Events

Like our classes, all of our workshops and events take place in a judgment-free zone. You are encouraged to show up “as you are” and know that you will be held in a safe and comfortable space by your facilitator and fellow participants.

Down Dogs and Day Dreams

Feb. 2

1:30-3:30 p.m.

What do you see you for your future? Is it a specific place you want to visit (Bora, Bora please!), a goal you hope to accomplish (publish a piece of poetry), a general feeling you want to arrive at (I’ll take an order of contentment with a side of euphoria), all of the above? This workshop makes the abstract tangible by getting those places, people, ideas, and emotions committed to paper. As you will learn in the session, such recording actually makes you more likely to achieve whatever it is you set out to do.

After we spend some time getting centered on our mats, we will shift our energy to creating art that reflects our deepest dreams. All supplies provided. No previous yoga or art experience required.

This workshop will be led by special guest instructor Kristina Ambrosia, RYT-200

Meditation for Young Minds

Special 6-week series

Feb. 11—March 5

3:45-5 p.m.

Our kids can thrive with the creation of a meditation and mindfulness practice. In this special 6-week series devoted specifically to kids and tweens, they'll have a chance to explore the concept of mindfulness and learn various meditation styles that can help them better manage stress, become more resilient, lessen anxiety and sharpen their self-awareness.

This 6-week series will build on each session, teaching kids and tweens about the attitudes of mindfulness and introducing them to a variety of meditation styles and how they can incorporate them into their daily lives.

Sessions will occur from 3:45 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, Feb. 5—March 11. Suggested ages are 8 to 14.

Yoga Basics Beginner's Workshop

Feb. 23, 2020

1:30-3:30 p.m.

New to yoga or want a tune up on the basics? This workshop is a great place to start. This two-hour workshop breaks down the more commonly practiced poses and sequences found in most yoga classes. We will walk through basic alignment step-by-step and then explore how your body feels supported in each of the poses. We will move our bodies with curiosity and respect in a supportive and inclusive environment and explore the importance of breathing and how it supports your practice. All ages, shapes and sizes are welcome. Leave this workshop with tools to feel comfortable and confident when participating in a yoga class.

This workshop will be led by teacher Chris Keller, E-CYT 500
